How to take coconut oil

Hey, I just bought some coconut oil the other day and I'm really not a fan of just downing it with a spoon. I have started using it to grease the pan when I make pancakes as it also adds to their flavour. Anyone got other ways of taking it? :rolleyes:

Spoon fed, warm then drizzle over rice, drizzle into blender with high cal shake.
 
use coconut oil instead of other types of oil i.e. when frying food, when sauteing vegtables for soups when making pankcakes as you mentioned eailer. If you really want to take heaps of it then id suggest making soup and just adding a bit more oil when you add the stock. just a suggestion.
 
is that more effective than snorting it?

Both rectal and snorting are considered as effective as each other by the Australian Coconut Oil Association. It just depends on how you like to take it, obviously Shane likes to take it in the rectum. :p
 
I take mine a couple of ways.

1) Sit the bucket, jar or container in some warm water so the oil becomes a liquid. Take a spoonful and throw it straight down the hatch!

2) Use it for cooking. Replace most conventional oils and butter.

3) Have it morning and night with my shake. Can be added as a solid or liquid. It will break up when you blend it!

I aim to have 3TBSP a day.
 
I do not recommend heating then blending into shake, unless drunk immediately, the coconut oil will form a hard candle-wax-like substance in your shake. very unpleasant

Now I don't know what brand you've got, but the one I have tastes just like a coconut. Granted you don't like the feel of it in your mouth, you can do the following:

1. Add a dash of stevia
2. Add a dash of cocoa powder
3. Mix the above and have it as you would when a cake mix is left over in the bowl (that all kids fight over). Can't be that bad now can it Jim!

If i'm adding to my shake, I put 1 table spoon in a skaker than I pour 200ml of boiling water onto it to melt. Then I add milk and then the protein powder.
