G'day folks,

Well I'm new to these forums, figured I'd introduce myself some so folks know a little bit about me and my experience.

I'm a Canadian born Australian, you can call me Brian or Tincat, as friends call me either. I've been in the fitness industry for about 5 years now after working in tech support and social work and ending up a overweight desk jockey.

I'm a fairly regular joe, not into aesthetic body building as much as sports conditioning and strength for my main hobbies which are Jiujitsu and MMA.

I currently work as a personal trainer and focus mainly on creating healthy lifestyles for my clients and more generalized fitness but have worked with Vic institute of sports athletes and in rehabilitation in the past.

How I came upon these forums? Well I just recently decided I needed to know more about pure raw strength development and so took it upon myself to learn Olympic lifting. I've only been at it a few weeks and am just working on technique and slowly increasing the weight to a program I've put together and so far so good, I'm mid 30's so injury prevention is important to me.

So I did some searching and found this great forum, and so far I've been enjoying the amount of knowledgeable folks here sharing their insights.

Please ask any questions you might have and thanks for reading ;)

Thanks, good to be here.

I'll try to get some numbers together for my maximal lifts soon so people know where I'm at, and hope to post some progress and what I'm doing on the forums here. I'm sure there will be lots of good advice and feedback from you guys to help me along.

I have picked up some new weight lifting shoes yesterday to try out for the first time, I'm 6'2 and have always had knee/lowerback concerns with deep squats so I'm hoping that will ease some of the strain and allow me to go for 3RM lifts comfortably.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Brian 'Tincat'
