I used to crossfit. I still see merit in some of their methods.
However, when pullups were programmed, I didnt kip them. My shoulders have enough problems without overextending them.
The ones in that animated gif are butterfly pullups, not kipping.

Hey I don't think there is anything wrong with crossfit.
It keeps people active and outside, it's cool to watch.
But I do think that with any sport, you need to do a safe exercise program to minimize injury that can be caused.
On a segway, there seems to be a turnaround in Afl where clubs are adopting crossfit type methods, it will be interesting to see the outcome through the season in relation to soft tissue injury.
