Worry less about the brand of bar and more about the weight your moving. I've lifted with the troy Texas bar and it is wicked good. Epic knurl, good whip, excellent piece of kit as I'm sure your 'kapps' bar is.
Seriously who gives a shit where or who made it. I seriously doubt there is that much difference.
It's been said before, I will say it again.
You get what you pay for when it comes to bars.
No doubt the above is true, I would kill for a texas bar in my home gym. The point I was making was in regard to the claimed superiority of the capps bar over the troy bar (as it turns out they are one in the same).
I have used the texas bars at GC Barbell (which from memory are Troy branded) and they are the best bar I have ever used. Freako gives them an absolute hiding with regular deads over 250+ and quite a few of his other lifters pounding them at 200+.
Eleiko bars oxidize because they dont chrome the shaft of the bar, this helps with grip. so if u dont clean off chalk or sweat the bar will oxidize, i have a hand print on my bar where i grip for bench, my hands were sweaty lol i also keep my bar in the 'ze-rust' plastic the it comes in, this has slowed down the process of oxidization a fair bit (would stop the rusting but it now has small holes in it). basically to avoid major rusting all u need to do is wipe it down after each workout and keep it in a dry place where humidity cant get to it. my bar has a slight rusted appearance, nothing that will hinder performance.especially since the Eleikos are prone to rusting, and my home bar is stored outdoors.
