I have one guy, used to bench 220kg and deadlift 320kg years ago, who swears by Arnold type training.
I suggested he only train once a day, which he tried, but he said it did not work for him. He has gone back to twice a day, six days per week.
What does this tells me? it is absolutely essential for a lifter to do what he or she enjoys most. Heavy, light, does not really matter if enough overload principles apply.
As long as you improve, no need to question much given that weight training is quite a basic activity where common sense should tell you whether or not you are improving.
