I only just now found out about Luke Wood. I don't know what to say. I was swapping calf training tips with Luke in July or August 2011 at Bankstown Train Station Gym. I distinctly recall him praising me for doing high rep 120 kg seated calf raises. Naturally, I was flattered and we joked about how wimpy most guys were when it came to their lower legs. But I only knew him for a couple of months before returning to my second home in Thailand until the end of 2012. I never heard of this until now and I'm shattered. He was such a friendly, unassuming guy. I was impressed by how modest he seemed, and how giving of his time he was to all and sundry. Bankstown being full of loudmouth bogans with no style he was an anomaly with his grace and understated charisma. I can't believe I missed his passing. RIP, big Luke, you were a one in a trillion man. I'll never forget you. Liver failure, what a bastard. I'm gonna go offline now.
