Hi everybody.
Just wanted to get some feedback on my training regime. Essentially I'm early thirties had a beer belly but I've done about 6 months of cardio and weights so have stripped it mostly off. I have started working harder on my abs but they only seem to be forming on the upper chest...
Ive been lifting for 15 months and am getting painful lower back on my deadlifts... saw a coach who helped me a lot with my form but it still hurts for days afterwards. Also if i do a big squat session i get pain.
I was thinking to try a belt to provide some support for my lower back.

Hi all. I'm just at the end of my first week in the gym. I'm 45 and haven't trained for about 15 years so am a little rusty. I thought for the first month I should do some conditioning so I don't injure myself so I'm going 5 days a week, doing very low weights and just doing basically big muscle...

I did deadlift for first time last night after 2 months without. Actually, technically it was a rack pull from knee height.
I did 3 sets of 5 reps... only went light at 40kg.
How fast do you recommend i load up? I was at 1x5 @110kg when i injured my lower back....
I am also trying to...
My squat day goes for 45min... my bench press workout is 1.5 hrs.
Should i be bulking up my squat day? Currently 3 exercises... squat, paused squat and lunges.
Or am i hitting my chest too hard... bench press, close grip, db bench, flys, then reverse flys, bicep curl and skullcrushers....

I don't want to hurt myself getting back into lifting so I am keeping things very light for a while.
Of great interest to me are exercises that I can absolutely kill it on and give 100% without fear of injury
My favourite for the lower body is the reverse hyper. I've been doing 200 reps a week...

I've been doing it for 6 months... I can pump out:
Squat: 100kg 5 x 5
Bench press: 100kg 5 x 5
Barbell row: 75kg 5 x 5
Overhead press: 50kg 5 x 5
Deadlift: 90kg 5 x 5
My stats are:
- 195 cm tall
- 140 kg
- 29% body fat
I have found that deadlift and barbell row are the hardest because my back...

A good exercise, some depending on design emphasize the hip, while other allow one to go much deeper (safely) compared to the squat.
if you ever feel strain in the low back or itchy afterwards , consider how you perform the movement, more often than not you shouldn’t actually sit on the seat...

I am currently trying to get my squat up, but my low weights reflect how weak I am when trying Olympic squat style.
I tried some powerlifting squats a few days ago, and hate the feeling when compared to Olympic style, although I struggle to get to parallel with Olympic style.

G'day all
My wife and I have been lifting for over a year now, she loves it just as much as I do which is great and keeps us so regularly in the gym.
We pretty much fell in love with powerlifting about 6 months ago after watching a shitload of Youtube videos and deciding what we want to focus...

Anyone know of a gym in Melbourne that has a proper reverse hyper machine? Close to the CBD would be ideal.
I've been struggling with my lower back for a couple of years and would love to give reverse hypers a go.
I train at fitness first at the moment and there's a GHR at the ones I go to...
