LF Positive Points for gym to purchase Powerlifting Equipment

Also the Okie bars are awesome. I'm picking one for PTC up tomorrow. They are the original deadlift bar. The texas bar was copied from the okie specs. The knurling is next level.

LF Positive Points for gym to purchase Powerlifting Equipment

A mono is probably the last thing you need. Focus on the longevity of high quality bars/benches/racks. Start small. A $5000 mono that most people wouldn't know what it was on first glance is a bit of a waste unless it's a powerlifting orientated gym. I'd be more inclined to spend the money on...

Australian weightlifter Jenna Myers collapses before event

It's mostly people who train to heavy and leave their cut to the last minute. It's easy as piss to cut 5kg or more for a 24hr weigh in but more then 1 or 2 for a 2 hour will not leave you enough time to get it all back and therefore you'll be weaker or you just won't make it and end up in...

Australian weightlifter Jenna Myers collapses before event

That's why you shouldn't cut large amount of weight for a 2hr weigh in. More then a kilo or two and you're going to have a bad time

    Attempt Selection for Raw Powerlifters

I've done it in the past. It really depends on your goals and how mentally fired up you can get. I'd normally be inclined to skip the third and move onto the next lift. If it's the deadlift I'd say try anyway.

PTC Canberra Novice Push/Pull Saturday 25 January 2014

The first meet for PTC Canberra was a huge success. I expected 10-15 lifters and maybe a bit of a crowd. Morning of the comp people continued to arrive topping out at 37 lifters. The meet ran smoothly thanks to the help of Trent and the PTC Sydney crew who came down and helped with spotting...
