There will be zero profit for my gym coming directly from this meet, or probably any APU meet we host. But that’s not why we are doing it. We are doing this to help the APU, most likely at our own expense.

But im not running the meet, or an official in any capciaty, I think you keep missing that part. I merely own a venue where a comp is being hosted. Anyway, my Saturday has started now, have a good weekend!

I have no problems with you Chris. I’ve known you for years. I just think your being a bit silly in wanting the venue owner to be a member, when he’s not the meet director lol.

While that is true, you should probably provide woody with context. It was PA stopping capo, using a government funded facility used be AWF (and possibly PA, I’m not sure), free of charge if I recall correctly. Thats a little different. Apples with apples mate.

Ok, so not written, so pretty hard to follow or enforce. That said, Tish is hosting, and will be a financial member. No issue then :) thanks mate.

I don’t see what’s logical about making someone join a fed, if they aren’t the meet director, a helper, or a competitor. But whether it’s logical or not, you said it’s a rule. I’d just like to see it so I can clairfy what it is that we need to comply with. I’m the VP if another federation...

    Australian Powerlifting Union thread

I didn’t realize it was an actual rule. Where is it written? And by hosting do you mean meet director? Or venue owner? Because they are 2 different things. Tish, my wife, is the meet director, and will be a financial member. Or or does it say the venue Owner must be also? Because that...

Why though? I’m not the meet director, and don’t have anything to do with the meet apart from being a beneficiary of the trust that owns the venue

I’m ignorant to what ASC has to do with it? can you explain why they have a say in where a comp can be held? I honestly have no idea. That would be a real pain if you had to constantly run things through other bodies. gpc is much simpler, we just do what we want haha

I know it’s not personal mate haha. I just think ANY fed would be mad to not accept our help/services/experience. Everyone has seen what we do, and the standards we do it. We obviously have invested interests in seeing APU flourish, which is why we contacted the APU to begin with :)

I won’t be arguing with anyone lol. My wife has offered her help and experience (she runs all of our meets), and APU knows I won’t be personally becoming a member for her to do that. If the APU declines, that will be unfortunate. But, Our meet is penciled in and tickets will be going out...
