    Geared lifting

I don't necessarily agree with Scott that you need to be strong first. I'd squatted 240 in wraps, benched 120ish and pulled 230 raw before i put the gear on. I now squat 400 equipped, bench 190-200 and pull about 245. I'm by no means strong raw but I have a goal and I chose to chase that goal...

    What's the best deadlift bar?

Not hard to get used to but the better you get at pulling the slack out of the bar the more the whip helps. Very different to the ABC bars. I've got 4 ABC bars that are great for all lifting but the difference in thickness and whip is very significant. PTC Canberra 0437011088...

    What's the best deadlift bar?

Hard to go wrong with the Texas. The Sportskraft one that Sticky gets is pretty sweet as well. We've got a Texas and will be getting another in the near future. Learning to take advantage of the whip is the first step to a really strong deadlift PTC Canberra 0437011088...

Advice on using a belt to support back

Do you know how to properly brace your core and breath into your belly? Learning how to do those two things will help a lot more then just throwing on a belt and hoping for the best. A tight and braced core is the key to being strong regardless of the lift being performed. PTC Canberra...

Morning workout crew: How do you do it?

I much prefer morning training. Usually start training at around 0530. I normally get up, get dressed, make a large and strong coffee then go via maccas for a sausage muffin (though that's recently been replaced with a protein, berries and coconut oil shake). A bit of Tool on the stereo for the...

I'm two days from from finishing my first 37. I've then got a week of training, go away for a week then have 6 weeks of training before the meet. How would everyone suggest I schedule it? I was planning 37,32 but I'll obviously have to take a week out to accommodate going away. Which week should...
