where I train is a little different... its focussed on "boxing for fitness" classes and thats all 90% of the members do.. the other 10% who use the cages/platforms do everything you'd hope for.. barely even any curling in the squat rack :P
beat me to it sticky :P IMO specifically training to get stronger and training to look and feel good are different... look at elite powerlifters - they dont necessarily look good, but they're strong as hell. I bet they have plenty of aches and pains too... Whereas a trainer switching to DBs in...
The first two sets are essentially heavy warm ups, building up to the final "all out" set.. Still heavy enough to give you a bit of work but not so heavy as to negatively effect the third. Or something to that effect - Wendler does explain it in the book but I can't remember his exact wording...
I don't know if we even get that here in Perth lol.. At last not in 2L - have seen it in 600ml cartons but no bigger. Will probably be brownes or Harvey Fresh :P
new member at my gym this morning doing oly technique work... Gotta admit, it is pretty impressive to watch when done by someone who knows what they're doing.
He wasnt massively strong (I saw lots of 110kg paused deadlifts, 70kg snatches and cleans up to around 80kg) but he was damned fast...
Made an omelette today with 1 whole egg, 3 egg whites, big pile of kale, ham, cheese, red capsicum and tobasco sauce.. Chucked it on a plate with a pile of fresh BBQ chicken. Fucken awesome meal - I could have eaten that shit all arvo!
I usually train in the morning before work.. Pretty much always have. I hate having to wait for other people to finish or work in with others so prefer going when it's quieter.
Having said that though I am now starting to get a bit of gear at home so training at night while the kids are asleep...
when I looked into this a couple of years ago the general consensus was that they're rubbish and fraught with problems which the manufacturers didnt seem too interested in rectiftying..
I carry two or three phones (depending if im rostered on for incident callout), usually just divert calls...
