    Benched 130 kg x 3 reps followed by 100 kg x 11 reps. 140 kg, here I come.

Nice one Oni. What do you eat, man, you keep adding 5 kg to your bench every week? I am just jealous ;-)

    Why am I piss weak?

D1cko, you are not in position to comfort me :-D We bench around the same and you are +50kg ahead of me in both squat and dead lift. I have to discuss it with my psychiatrist again :-D

    Why am I piss weak?

Thanks guys, that is exactly what I was asking (I don't use wraps). And yes, Bozodos, you are right, I might be "aesthetics inclined". The bottom line is: nothing is awfully wrong here, I just need to focus on squat a bit more (well, a lot more :-D ).

    Why am I piss weak?

Hey guys, I had to notice something: compared to most of you I am out of the "healthy balance" of the performance of the 3 lifts. I can bench 140kg but I can only squat 160kg and dead lift 200kg (@90kg BW). It shows me that I am piss weak on the lower part of my body (as well). Is there any...

    The PB Thread

Thanks guys. 1 extra rep per year is great; this way I will be able to perform 30 reps with BW+20 kg as a 68 yo, yayy. That might be a Guinness record :-)

    The PB Thread

Nothing to write home about but a PB for me: reverse grip chin up (90 kg) BW + 20 kg: 6 reps

    Weightbelts, yay or nay?

Skipping an important compound movement exercise won't protect anyone from injuries. The key is to strengthen the weak points so your body can handle much more - even in an unexpected situation (accident). I have never seen anyone who maintained strict, proper form of exercise performing 4-5...

Weighted dips - how much ?

I have not benched for 6 weeks, I only weighted dipped + pec deck or something like that for 6 weeks for chest. Before this period I could bench 110 kg x 5 reps x 3 sets. After this period (yesterday) I benched 110 kg x 7 reps x 3 sets. Not a huge improvement, but still improvement (with no...

How do you tell if you're recovered? (or not recovered)

Also, as a guide line they say that if you still feel a tension or a slight pain in your target muscle group it is ok to train again. If it is a severe DOMS and actual, sharp pain, have another full day rest.

How do you tell if you're recovered? (or not recovered)

In my workouts I always target around 95% intensity, no matter what to ensure the progress. However I fully understand that my body status, the actual level of my 100% can be changing day by day. It depends on many things, like: -diet (how much and what you ate and when) -sleep (how much and...

    Deadlift issues

...and after the first and second warm up sets stretch your hams. Actually, I stretch them after all workout sets, too.

    Deadlift form check

What I can see is that you don't drive your hips at all. I mean you keep your bum at the back, you don't use the drive at all. Try to emphasise the drive of your hips, when you start raising the bar drive your hips/bum forward (squeezing your bum). It will give you more power and speed of the...

Weighted dips - how much ?

I do something like this (except standing and grabbing the bar on the power rack) :

Weighted dips - how much ?

Respect to all heavy weighted dippers; I dipped with +35 kg (92 kg bw) x 7s (3x7) and it felt like tearing my shoulders/elbows; I reckon I have to get used to the heavier weight gradually.
