    Periodization.

Right now I am working off a 5 week power cycle. That means the intensity at times is high but does gradually drop so that intensity can be raised. I'll do the best I can at showing what the periodized plan I (and a few other lifters ) are working from. We are working off 4 days a week...

Only The Strong Survive: Lift To Live Longer!

Only The Strong Survive: Lift To Live Longer It's a phrase you've undoubtedly heard countless times. Heck, many of you have probably uttered a similar line more times than you'd like to admit. The aging process can be a hard thing to accept. Our bodies make it easier to store fat as we start...

What proportion of your BSquat is your FSquat?

I've always thought your front sq should be about 85% of your back. Let's dig deeper....your front squat should be 125-130% of your clean. Your snatch should be about 80% of your clean... What's that...? You can snatch 90kg? You should be able to clean & jerk around 110. You should have a...

    Weightlifting mathematically

explain what you mean in as much detail as possable. If I through a stone....would it lose weight as it picked up acceleration (the 2nd derivitivr of motion)?

    Weightlifting mathematically

Correct. I made a typo. Mass and weight are related but distinctly different properties of an object. Mass is an inherent property; weight is the gravitational force acting on an object. The mass of a barbell, plates and colars would be the same while on the moon...but be lighter when on a...

    Weightlifting mathematically

I found this pretty cool vid on youtube and thought id share it here Ruslan Albegov 210kg Snatch + 245kg Clean and Jerk - YouTube See how the 120kg snatch was performed? In about 1 second, the bar moved 137cm. Let's do some calculus..... velocity = Distance / Time 137cm / 1s = 1.37...
