    This it's true, Rip is good for getting novices strong and skinny guys big but he's not a world class PL coach.

    Your hip joint should always be able to go below parallel, I don't think your calves and hammies can get that big. If your gut is too big you can widen your stance or stop being obese. Or join one of those feds that allow high squats.

    Didn't Adam Coe also mention that for a raw lifter the bench makes up 20% of the total? 20% seems about right for me.

    There's nothing more satisfying than nailing a good C&J or snatch. I might give it a shot in the second half of this year but if powerlifting is going well it would be hard to give up making progress there. If I had the opportunity to be taught by a national grade coach I'd take it in a heartbeat.
