    Chucks are heaps better than runners or other shoes but I'd never go back to them for squatting. YMMV

    I'd say everyone would benefit from ditching runners and getting a non compressible sole. If your comp is in a week grab some chucks or rip off chucks, there won't be much learning curve. If you have a few weeks to adjust grab lifting shoes. You should get some benefit out of lifting shoes...

    Well properly performed squats and deadlifts in a healthy person should only improve their health. The trouble comes in doing it right, which is why a good coach or PT is invaluable. Keep the risk low and the benefit is very high.

    Do you have a coach watching your form or are you training alone? Same for you kindred, if squats are fucking your knees then something is wrong.

    I have the MMPR and my gym has the commercial one. Get the commercial one if you can afford it and have room for it. The MMPR is a good rack, but when I move out and have space for a rack I will get a better one.

    You could put the chin up bar in upside down I think. I'm not very tall (about 177?) and when I press the top of the plate is a bit higher than the bars so if you can press in the garage the cage will fit with the bar the right way up. And yeah this rack will move around a lot, but it's easy...

    Yeah that is good, though I'm trying to get as close to 110kg as I can. Losing a bit of fat is a nice bonus, but won't worry about that too much till I'm closer to 110. On another forum a MMA guy is getting stronger whilst staying the same weight. It's good what proper training can do for you...
