    Overhead press thread

I totally heart ohp. Even though I've only done 1x70kg @ ~85kg. :/ Still probably my favourite lift. edit: Also a 35kg DB x 1, which is maybe even more the favourite. :)

    The PB Thread

Haven't gone beyond the 140kg squat yet, but I'm now doing sets of 90kg bench, and have actually pulled 180kg IRL, not just in theory. :D Slow and steady.

    I'm Over Squats

Yeah, bodybuilding: building the body. Bodybuilding | Define Bodybuilding at Dictionary.com Sure, lemme guess - squat, bench press, deadlift. There are different paths. Each requires a different perspective. Your perspective might not match up very well with the bodybuilding path...

    Wingman vs Oni Bench Challenge

Hm. Well... So where's dem numbers at for Oni and Wingman, at this stage of the proceedings? Still a chance I can pip 'em for gainz by the end of this, I guess. :D Just... fuck all chance. But hey, you never know.

    Bicep Pain when Benching

Have you tried posting a video of your bench form on this forum for the pros to pick apart? Also, dunno if it's relevant to you, but I had a similar thing going on, and it turned out that I had the bar too low with low bar squats (which were done just before benching, just as you do). Plus my...

Article on Mary Macken on ninemsn

Weak "men" terrified by strong (and financially independent) women - shit? shit never changes - and women all but imploding with bitter envy. Fucking wankers, the lot. Anyway, good on her. :) And, despite some inevitable commentary there, it's great to see a successful female strength athlete...

    Rippetoe Press 2.0 Video

I gave it a go. Felt stupid, and not right too. As my overhead press is probably already better (relatively) than my other lifts, more or less? Fuck it. I'll just keep on lifting the more classic (modern-ish) way.

    The PB Thread

Put it this way: if I could get away with just testing for 1RM (with squats) forever, I would for sure! :D But no, I know that's not a good idea, suffice it. Haven't gone beyond 10 reps (squatting), so far.* Not looking forward to when/if I do, either... * Usually for for 3-5, actually.

    The PB Thread

Noice! Fuuuuck squats @ reps > 8, lol, but well done. Rather you than me, mate. :p

    Which Machine?

There ya go, then. It's one of my pet theories that those who rail against machines and all that other "weak" stuff (training methodologies definitely included) are extremely likely to be highly opinionated powerlifter types and/or interweb blowhards who can lift fuck all, and...

    Which Machine?

So... let me get this straight: first you suggest that people go and study physics, then soon after, reveal a staggering lack of awareness of basic biomechanics. Now, that's not my field (of study) - nowhere near! - but I do know a few things... like this and this, for example. Just out of...

    Barbell curl

Why would you not be, unless weight doesn't matter at all to you for any lift ever, or it's "all powerlifting all the time" on the other hand? It's a lift, much like any other, and if you're applying dat dere progressive overload to your lifting... then yeah. :)
  13. M

    Barbell curl

Mate, my advice (such as it is, be being a bit of a noob!) would be to not do them after chinups. Especially not straight after. I dunno, you could try them after pullups instead. Or just at a totally different time, even. No idea how your program's set up, so...

    Asymmetric gains

Are you a lot taller than you are broad (I mean, more than average ratio)? If so, then well, same here, and I also OHP closer to bench than many people, it seems. So I'd say it's a fundamental build (body structure, like bones f'rex) thing. Though now that I'm concentrating more on bench, the...

    Barbell curl

3x8-12, supersetted with a tricep exercise (lol, yes I'm being serious). The tris are done first each superset actually, but whatever. When I can do 3x12, no cheating, it's time for s'more weight, and 8 reps (or more if I can do them). That kinda deal.

    Chin-up goals

Wouldn't there be a significant difference between claims of targeting the "upper chest" and claims of targeting the "lower chest", considering that the upper pecs are actually a real, separate thing (the Clavicular head of the Pectoralis Major) whereas the "lower pecs"... aren't? :)...

Buying the best belt you can in Australia

Ooookay, lemme try to 'splain once again: If you're using, say, Internet Explorer, that site is just as dodgy, only YOU HAVE NO INDICATION THAT THIS IS SO. If you don't mind visiting hacked sites with serious security issues, PLUS not even having a fucking clue that's exactly what you're doing...

Buying the best belt you can in Australia

Yeah, but from where though. The Aussie Titan site is fucked, then you have dodgy ol' "Scorpion Gym"... "Urgh" is right.

    Chin-up goals

Ha, speaking of which. :D Different kind of beast, however. Someone working for traveltown.vn just seems to be signing up and posting spam, in the old-fashioned way. Cute, really.

    Chin-up goals

Yeah, as far as I'm aware, it's just a matter of grip: chinup=supinated, pullup=pronated. Neutral grip pullup is neutral grip, lol. :p Some people even do mixed grip, and all kinds of crazy crap. Fuck knows if it helps in any way, but it sure looks like fun I guess. I still find wide grip...
