    What did you miss? You say you've been squatting the way you have been for 25 years. and your best squat is 170kg so yes.. you've been doing it wrong. Obviously more lack of basic comprehension on how to squat.

    next session try for a 3.5 minute break between sets 2 and 3. you'll get the last rep on set 3 due to longer break.

    at your 5'11" maybe.. but the guy is 6'3".. I'd say that the limb proportions between the 2 of you are very different. Where your arse would touch a standard comp height bench at parallel, he would be an inch or 2 below when his arse touches.

    some questions... Why are you taking 2 - 2.5 minutes rest? what is the purpose of timing your rest when you are trying to get strong-er? Why are you doing 11 reps? like why 11? is that 1 extra after 10 supposed to do something? is it as good as 12 reps? just an odd number to choose.

    Jealous :( edit: high bar back squats might still give you issues depending on which part of your back is fucked and what causes it pain. Front squats eliminates any spinal compression from the bar that's why I suggested it.

    I reckon it's the SS low bar, bum back style squatting making life worse... If your knees are still good, go back to an empty bar and give full range front squats a go.
