    opinions on "lean gains"

And what that would that be exactly? What works is consuming adequate calories with sufficient macronutrient balance to support the desired body composition and exercsie perfromance you need. I'm pretty sure what OP has listed is just another way of doing what I've just outlined, which for...

[Article] Eating Carbs at Night article

Confirms all the common sense that defies the bro's out there. Now there are 2 articles that go against their protocols - Carbs + Fats is fine and doesn't increase fat uptake (Carbs & Fat: Friends After All? - AlanAragon.com - Fitness Based on Science & Experience) and now carbs at night don't...

Help with planning a cutting phase

I'd not bother doing any carb cycling unless you are under 10% BF and have hit the wall. No need to micromanage things if you can avoid it. Avoid food avoidence. Don't cut food types out for some bro-reason. If you have an intolerant to it, then that ius the only reason to not consume it. If...

    Meal Plan: constructive criticism please

From reading that article it still seems clear to me that frequent meals (4-6) are optimal for protein synthesis and even supplementing in between meals with BCAA/Leucine & carbohydrate is recommended. The research to suggest lower meal frequency to be optimal was based on elderly women with...

    Gaining muscle while dropping fat.

Can I just say that I think ALL people should keep carbohydrates AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE during a 'fat loss' period..... Yeah the 70 is fine, but I'd compensate for exercise as well, so at least on training days it doesn't fall to far below that, as mentioned in the data...

    Meal Plan: constructive criticism please

If we just look at the 'protein dense' foods out of his daily protein intake as Bazza mention 140g of that is from those foods, of which AT LEAST 21g of it is BCAA's... Certainly exceeds baseline requirements. I'm all for the lower meal frequency, don't get me wrong on that. As everyone here...

    Meal Plan: constructive criticism please

I didn't need to look any further than the author - Layne Norton. He works for SCIVATION and their key product is a BCAA product...... Yes Leucine is the 'key' activator in protein synthesis but only unless ALL other EAA's are present.... Anyway, Leucine content is meaningless when you look at...
