The state of the powerlifting/strength forum

I call it "sick of the same old shit" rather than easily offended. As the main PL section mod I try to keep the moderation a bit stricter here but I have to walk a fine line between firm and nazi. I don't think there are many highly active PL forums at the moment. Proraw doesn't seem to...

The state of the powerlifting/strength forum

You are allowed to talk about it yes, and you can discuss the pros and cons of each variation too, but you can't just wander into a thread about a world record lift and start saying its not a deadlift. There needs to be a balance here and unfortunately there isn't. We have maybe 4 active...

You can call them a conventional and sumo deadlift, but they're both still deadlifts...

The state of the powerlifting/strength forum

To quote a competitive lifter from my facebook feed today: "that forum is the bottom of the barrel." If the powerlifting section is to ever draw competitive lifters then it needs legitimate and serious discussion about the sport. This is what it needs, not a bunch of non-competitive idiots...

Thank you for ruining a perfectly good thread about a very impressive feat guys.

Cheng Chung Chih - 66kg Sub-junior deadlifts 290kg for the Open Asian record

No actually, its still a strict deadlift. "The deadlift is a weight training exercise in which a loaded barbell is lifted off the ground to the hips, then lowered back to the ground".

Cheng Chung Chih - 66kg Sub-junior deadlifts 290kg for the Open Asian record

No there's no correlation at all. It resembles a deadlift because it is fucking deadlift.

Cheng Chung Chih - 66kg Sub-junior deadlifts 290kg for the Open Asian record

Then one does not understand the definition of a deadlift, ie. Lifting a barbell from a dead stop in the ground, . There is nothing in the definition dictating where the feet must be, how far the bar must travel, etc. This is a deadlift whether you like it or not and is perfectly legal in the...

And lets just say that CAPO reffing at their Nationals last year left a lot to be desired, in both directions! You needed a step ladder to measure the international lifter's depth but then invited GPC lifters were dragging their nuts on the floor and getting redlighted.

[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

My sessions can last anywhere from 2-4hrs and I train up to around 20hrs a week. If you ask around a few competitive powerlifters I'm sure you'll find 15-20hrs of training per week is not uncommon, and a lot of these peeps have families and full time jobs. Dedication is what gets you to the top...

    Anyone do the Arnold Blueprint?

If you'd known me as a kid you would doubt any suggestion of superior genetics. I was always the oldest kid in my class because my parents started me a year later, and I was also always the smallest. Most kids the year beneath me were taller. I worked as a PT back then and was at the gym from...
