Powerlifting: The Good, Bad and Ugly - tnation article

Ridiculous article. Its been receiving a blasting by the powerlifting community everywhere else I've seen it posted over the past couple of days.

You know you are too strong for a Commercial gym when.....

When you keep on breaking the pins on the cable weight stacks by loading them up with plates... And when the dip frame starts coming out of the wall when you do weight dips.

Questions to officials of different powerlifting federations

GPC and CAPO lifters can set WRs at their nationals but PA lifters can only set them at international comps, that's why the Pacific Invitational was created, so Australian lifters can set international records and Australian refs can get the necessary experience. I hardly see a problem with it...

Questions to officials of different powerlifting federations

I'm presuming this is directed at CAPO, PA only gets out a few internationals and that's so they can hold an international event so PA lifters can set WRs.

Questions to officials of different powerlifting federations

Well we had a pretty massive crowd all day of both PA fans and passerbys so I think it worked quite well.

Cool. Was just trying to compare it to our 2 Nats this year. The Open Nats was restricted entry due to it being held at the Fitness Expo so they are holding a separate Jnr, Masters and Bench Nats in August.

How many junior, masters, open and equipped lifters separately if you know?

Fuck me, what more do you want me to say? "Yes Bazz, I'll take it to Gaston Parage right away and get the IPF to institute pin safeties for bench before Raw Nats this year to save all the lifters for dying from crushed ribcages like they did last year".

PA nats was fucking great. JP Cauchi is officially PA's answer to Adam Coe.

Who's being defensive? We've just said your idea won't work and won't be considered, repeatedly.

Questions to officials of different powerlifting federations

Face savers have been around for quite a while I think. At least in the IPF on the old ER racks and the eleiko sets. Monos have been around for a good 30 years at least but are not universally accepted across all feds. I fucking hate them personally. What's your point? As much as you think...

[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

I wouldn't say 4-5hr sessions are any sort of standard for athletes. They're a standard for me though for aforementioned reasons.

[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

No he doesn't but I have found this works for my bench best. I leave my squat and deads as is but I do push heavier than planned doubles and triples often.

Questions to officials of different powerlifting federations

You'd end up with people being disqualified more often and possible injuring their wrist/pec/shoulder from collisions with the pins. Its a bad idea, believe me. And also believe me, its very uncommon for people to have their chest crushed outside of a few freak accidents, and in the most recent...

[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

I could get through #37 in 2hrs easily these days. The intensities are very low and the volume is tiny compared to what I do now. I also run my own cycles with jacked maxes so I tend to actually use somewhere closer to 90-95% rather than the 80-85% I'm meant to be using. This is why I need...

Well you're talking to a big bencher and I actually feel quite safe with the rules we have already thank you very much and I think your suggestion would actually make the situation worse.

[LOL] Powerlifting workouts should only be 60-90mins long says a retard...

Which one? #29? #37? They're a walk in the park these days. Try comparing the volume in these to a CMS or MSIC programs, or better yet, one of the retard bench cycles I run. They take fucking time and the volume increases considerable the more advanced you get.

I was trying to be polite as I can Bazz but of course you have to be your usual self. And yes there is already a risk of touching the facesavers or the uprights so why make it worse. If there was anything to be considered it would have been considered years ago. And what changes? As far as I...
