    I bench like I'm supposed to in competition. Probably 1.5-2 seconds descent, pause, then as quick as possible back up. Why would you want to lift weights slowly?

    I'm a big fan of Behind neck presses for shoulder health now. I was seriously at my wits end with my shoulder, but after months of pain and a focus on a more 'active recovery' which included light weight-high rep BTN's, it's fully recovered.

    @0ni; Would you still recommend this to peak for a meet? I'm planning on doing something similiar next time round as I don't think I prepped very well for my comp. Edit- Oh....just read the whole thread properly...seems it would be good for peaking :)

    Yeah made it without really trying. I got all the way back to 113kg by the next morning but didn't perform very well. Still pleased as its my first sanctioned GPC comp and I didn't bomb. I was tempted to pull out due to the ongoing glute issues but I just dropped my squat numbers and carried on...

    Swervyn. The Dockers will smash a very underdone Sydney tonight. Then both prelims will be back in Perth. I'm hoping the Tigers can win but be wary of the more experienced and rested roos. Also hoping the bulldogs win because I reckon Adelaide is dangerous.

    Trying to to decide which Power Cage

    In my opinion, a cage is a cage. As long as it can catch a dumped squat, it's good. Nice small increments for the J-hooks are handy too, as well as a pullups bar. I'd be inclined to not go overboard on the cage if you're trying to set up a home gym and maybe free up finances for better bench...
