Have you ever felt "guilty" or "ashamed" from steroid use?

I know I'm 4 days late, but this post is just such a great fucking example of Dunning Kruger. A. Lyrica (pregabalin): not a fucking anti-epileptic. It's used purely for neuropathic pain. No, we don't have a fucking clue how it works. On the other hand, side effects are pretty rare. I've seen...

Have you ever felt "guilty" or "ashamed" from steroid use?

Equating those two really isn't possible. On the most basic level, that of self-interest, I have a quite clear reason to do a medical degree. You, on the other hand, don't gain a career out of posting on forums complaining about steroid use.

Have you ever felt "guilty" or "ashamed" from steroid use?

What I don't understand is why you care so much?

Have you ever felt "guilty" or "ashamed" from steroid use?

Man, it is a shit ton harder to get someone to come off alcohol than to come off opiods. Just as physically addictive, and when you come off you have a risk of going into delirium tremens which has a 15% risk of death. AND there are constant social reminders. I've seen two people successfully...

Have you ever felt "guilty" or "ashamed" from steroid use?

It's the old use versus abuse argument. No level is safe, but there's a very big difference between 0ni and his 250mg/week and the guy a friend of mine met who was offered roids in his second session at the gym, accepted, didn't even ask what it was he was taking and had the guy who offered them...

Man died last night from DNP.

DNP is a stupid, retarded drug to take. I've never heard a real reason to use it even if you're a very heavy user already, a bit more tren and some t3 are a heap less risky (not that they are safe). This whole trend of random guys on /fit/ using it without even having spent a year training is...

    Anti-inflammatory drugs/medications and training.

That'd be called oxycontin, and it's been around forever. You can still crush and inject it, too, just needs some more prep. What you might be thinking of is Targin, which is oxycodone plus naloxone. Naloxone is the drug you use for opiate overdose, but when you take it by mouth you can't...

    Anti-inflammatory drugs/medications and training.

Man, sometimes you know exactly what you're talking about and sometimes you are full of shit. Tramadol non-responders are a known group of the population. It's one of the major reasons we don't use it more. Also, I've never seen any evidence that addicts would swap to Tramadol. Why would they...

    Anti-inflammatory drugs/medications and training.

Tramadol isn't an anti-inflammatory. It's a synthetic opiod, which probably acts more via seratonin than via standard opiod pathways. Works really well for about 50% of people, does nothing for 30% and makes the other 20% really nauseated. Still pretty addictive, but not controlled to the same...

    Anti-inflammatory drugs/medications and training.

When everyone is saying anti-inflam, what they mean is NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). NSAIDs should not be used for DOMS. Among many other things, they don't do anything for it. Chronic tendinitis they also won't help much, they'll just dull the pain a bit. You're better off...

14 year old Maryana Naumova goes for a new PB 300 lb bench press at the 2014 Arnold X

You still aren't understanding. I'm talking about the strength of a single muscle, when removed from the body and stimulated electrically.

Really can't be fucked for an issue of muscle physiology that basic. Wikipedia will probably even have it on it.

Mate, I'm not "going by theory". It has been experimentally proven that each individual muscle has a length at which it produces the most force, generally within the middle of the range of physiological movement for that muscle.

Wrong usage. I meant the muscle physiology term which shows the actual force output of a stimulated muscle over various levels of contraction. It's theorised to be due to the shape of actin and myosin fibrils.

Not true. Force curve is strongest somewhere in the middle for each individual muscle and it gets weaker towards either end. Once you add in multi-joint muscles working synergistically it gets a lot more complex.

When does your grip on a bar give? What was it originally?

My double overhand is pathetic. Maybe 170/180. Mixed I can comfortably hang on to 240+ most of the time.

    Deadlift breathing

Generally one breath to unrack and set-up, then about 30 seconds fucking around breathing weirdly in and out because I'm soft, then a large breath and the actual squat.

    Steroids killing young men.

Nope. Seen a couple of guys with abscesses and bad skin infections who I've thought were probably running something, but they don't get infections on the same level as the heroin users. Heart attacks/strokes from poor lifestyle choices on the other hand... I've seen two patients today on that...

    Steroids killing young men.

I'd say you're always better off telling the GP. The GP should be willing to not add it to your records and just remember it, but you may want to check that first. No clue on what effects having gone off and on so much could have. I'd guess only reproductive, but I don't really have a clue.

    Steroids killing young men.

Couple of different ways you can have your heart checked for different things. First and simplest is an ECG. Any GP can do that in their office. That looks for abnormalities in the electrical system of your heart. For someone using gear, the worry with an ECG is atherosclerosis causing blocked...
