[Cycling] one finger or two ?

I know that this is kind of a silly question, but is it best to keep one finger on the brakes at all times, or two, or just reach and grab when you need them? I've been scoping out others when they ride as well as the mag shots and videos and they all have different placement.

For the record, I'm working on placing two fingers on at all times, and I use rim brakes.

I usually keep one finger on the brake, unless I know for sure I won't need to brake for any reason (like long flat XC rides). For steeper and more technical descents, I'll use two fingers.

Do what you are comfortable with. Looking stylish has nothing to do with going fast. But I suppose it's better to be stylish and fast than not stylish or fast.
