red lentil dahl
bout one cm lentils in bottom saucepan, rinse them a few times, drain water, fill with new water to bout 1cm over lentils....get them up to the boil
1 chopped tomato chuck it in now...
throw in cinnamon stick x 1 , level tsp curry powder (make this one bigger than the others) ground tumerick, cumin, corriander, bout quater tsp chilli powder, go easy on the chilli...good 3 tsp heaped salt...bring to boil and then turn down to simmer...
while thats going, dice one brown onion, fry it off in bout 1 tbs olive oil, when cooked chuck the onion and the oil in with the lentil mix, simmer for bout 30 mins total.
chopp fresh corriander, good handful and add 5 mins before serving...
serve with rice...
