fatigued as f**k

Oh yeah people miss deads at the top. I meant squat and bench really.
Im on phone but article is called how i would westside

Thanks man, I'll give it a read now =)

I miss deads at the top, I can't imagine missing a squat at the top though, my quarter squat is 100kg more than my parallel squat.

Failing at deads at the top is definitely the most common of the three but it does happen for the other two. I don't usally like using the cream of the crop as examples but look at Eric Spoto, bar flies of his chest and bombs at what most would call lockout.

With the squats it's usually the lack of ability to get the hips through at the top since they're used to using their lower back to compensate for their lack of hip extension strength. Probably doesnt help that most of them (strongmen) not only hitch their deadlifts in competition but in training as well.

Vid of spoto missing at the top?
Ive honestly never seen this happen and refuse to belive it exists until i see it lol

But you have seen someone miss his bench press at the top. Remember that guy who dropped the bar in competition and died?

Spoto, skip to 2:40 to see the 3rd attempt which was by far the best of the 3.

Thanks bams. The Spoto one is clearly missed at lockout, I wouldn't say the other two were though that was more midway though.
It's also pretty interesting how spoto always skips this part of the RoM in his training, maybe it's to save his joints?

Thanks for linking them anyway, I've asked this a few times and nobody ever provides any sort of proof lol. I would think it's pretty fair to say that until you had a similar bench style to Spoto you will probably miss just off the chest or at midway like that majority of other people

No worries. Not sure his exact reasons why he doesn't lockout in training. Might have a look around for an interview later if I can be fucked lol.

His Rom is tiny though, which might explain it, his 'top' is more like most people sticking point.

Thanks to the massive chest his ROM is like a 2 board lol. He supposedly has 20 inch forearms, which is riduculous. But he failed almost at full extension, only an inch or two from locking out.
