97lb (44kg) Female Squat Record

Basic weight training, yes.
World records? Maybe no....

Doing exercise like playing a sport is fine...and I support this highly for any kid from 6 years old upwards...

But no kid needs to be doing any sort of weight lifting till the age of 13/14....

Look at the problems girls have, after years of playing Netball. They all have bad knees!

Dont let them play netball then but believe me the % of girls who played netball and dont have any knee probs would hugely out-weigh the girls who played netball with knee problems.....soccer, basketball, tennis...whatever....

Sport is GREAT for young kids...builds a good base of confidence, discipline and dealing with others....plz tell me your not one of those ppl that would wrap their kid in cotton wool...lol

I think all kids should be made to play in a sporting team from the ages of say 6-8 onwards in school....

No way, kids belong on bikes, in sporting teams and anywhere else away from the lounge and video games!
