Sets and Reps for Leg Extensions

Trying to grow quads with squats and leg extensions. Squat routine is going great but leg extensions suck. I’m currently doing 8 working sets of 9 reps at 40 Kg for leg extensions but seem to have plateaued. Should I go heavier for less sets and reps or back off weight and up reps and sets?

Where are my damn abs hiding

So bit of background I definitely have a bit of a core weakness that's actually caused an anterior pelvic tilt IMO although I'm not a physio, but it seems like my lower back and hip flexors take on way more of the load in day to day life to make up for my core. Before I started lifting when I...

    Older lifters training thoughts

G'day, It's been a while since I was on AUSBB. A bit of history: I'm 53, 84kg and been lifting for about 10 years or so consistently, but in the last few years (particularly afer my bike accident the frequency is now daily). I have only got back to doing squats in the last 9 months (re...

First two weeks to a month training?

Hi all. I'm just at the end of my first week in the gym. I'm 45 and haven't trained for about 15 years so am a little rusty. I thought for the first month I should do some conditioning so I don't injure myself so I'm going 5 days a week, doing very low weights and just doing basically big muscle...

Thinking of training squats, dips and curls only

I know its not respected when guys only train certain parts. But really, these are the parts that need to catch up so I was wondering your guys' thoughts on this All that seems to grow is my back and delts. Maybe if I wasn't training them the rest of my body would improve

What do you do if you hurt your back?

I busted my back on my deadlift session last week, its not bad, but I wont be deadlifting for 2-3 weeks. I won't be squatting for a week or so either. Back injuries shouldn't be, but generally are, apart of powerlifting. What you do next, with your body and mind, will determine your return...

5x5 SL progress & recovery issues.

Hi anyone on SL 5X5, My first program and I was complaining for 8 weeks the weights were too low. Now its getting too hard at a rapid rate. The Squat

    Noob needs a power cage

Hello All After a 20 year break, I recently started lifting again, following SL 5x5, using my uncles old bench press 'machine'. But 60kg is the max that i feel confident snatching up and over my head to start my squats. So its time for a Cage. I really want a power cage so that my son can also...
