in all my years of factory work the only injury i really got was chemical burns, now working in IT i find myself with a torn rotator cuff after dropping a UPS

Does the ability to recover increase in proportion to our ability to get stronger (more muscular)?
please share your experience, only if you have been working out *continually* for no less than 3 years.
i suspect we need to do less overall exercise to continue to even stronger.

There is a school of thought that says that frequency of training is of greater importance than sheer volume e.g. if you do 12 sets for muscle group X once per week you will see a greater benefit doing 6 sets twice per week.
