Military press, does cheating count?

I see most people using their legs to push the barbell up, is this even considered as a military press?

does cheating count with anything? when legs are used it is called a push press.
Military press is done strictly with arms/shoulders. no leg drive should be used. the bar should also come down to chest height for each rep.

Unless you have a very low ceiling, then do them standing up. It's more functional; the core is involved as well as other stabilising muscles.

Fadi.

Thanks Fadi,

Im the only one in the gym doing this ahah, everyone else does it sitting down on the smith machine... or push press

Ask them to do it your way standing with no leg drive. See how weak they actually are.
