Improve Ausbb

I recommend putting a sticky caveat on the injuries forum stating that diagnosis or treatment of injuries and/or any other condition not be asked for or given.
1.It is impossible to diagnose even if you are a health/medical professional.
2.It is plain dangerous and irresponsible.
Injuries and experiences with treatments should be discussed but that is all.
Recommendations for doctors, physios and gyms and trainers can be suggested.

Not a substitute for medical advice!

Please be aware that this section of Ausbb - Australian BodyBuilding should not be relied on as a source of medical advice you should always consult a doctor. This section is provided as a place to share experiences.

Yeah I did see that but it still amazes me how people ask these questions and others answer!
Maybe it needs to be a bit more eye catching or more strongly worded.

The site is great, and I appreciate the time that everybody puts in, including our resident gods.

But their is 1 things that stops me using the site to the fullest. That one thing is having to use a 3rd party site to upload pics. I know I'm lazy :p, but all the other sites I use have a direct upload option.

If you guys could implement that, the site would be AWESOME

And maybe a section for boobies? :p

Sticky, you can upload pics. You do not need to use third party.

Things I'd like to see:

1. A new subforum on gym equipment specifically - it would be a one stop shop for people to inquire/review australian products, which is important because our market in terms of gym equipment is very different to america.

2. A subforum on mind, meditation and spirituality. I'm not sure whether this would take off but being healthy is more than physical.

3. A relationships subforum

Perhaps we could take a leaf out of muscleandbrawn's book, here.
Thanks for stopping by the Muscle and Brawn Forums. The following is a list of rules that must be read by every forum member before posting.

If the rules are broken, ignorance is no excuse. Banning for rules violations will be immediate and irreversible.

This forum exists to help each other learn and grow.

1) RESPECT. Respect other members.

2) NO NAME CALLING. Name calling is not allowed. If you want to debate another poster, do so with information. Resorting to name calling is pointless, and helps no one.

3) PERSONAL ISSUES. If you have an issue with another member, or with a forum moderator, send them a private message. It is better to work out heated issues one on one. If you disagree with an action that a moderator has taken, DO NOT attack him on the boards. Again, work it out one on one.

4) VITAL MEMBERSHIP. If you are not here to contribute, you will be banned. What does this mean? If you are here only to promote your website, product, etc., and leave short, hit and run posts, but don't contribute in other areas…you will be bye bye.

5) SELF PROMOTION. Promote your blog, product, etc. But make sure you understand rule #4…you must also be a vital member. Do not make multiple threads spamming your goods/blog/whatever. You may also post your links in your signature.

6) CROSS POSTING. DO NOT post the same thread in different areas.

7) AVATARS. Avatars must be PG-13. No nudity, curse words, or other profanity. And please, no political or religious bashing avatars. You are free to have avatars that feature your political or religious interests, but ARE NOT free to have avatars that bash others or a group.

8) FLAMING. Please, no flaming. Save that for your blog or personal web space.

9) STEROIDS. Steroid discussions are welcome, but do not PM or ask other members about acquiring steroids. Just because someone has knowledge does not mean they use illegal drugs. You also can NOT post links to sites that claim to sell anything illegal.

10) NO PORN. No porn. No porn links. No porn advertisements. No nudity, and so hardcore sexual slang or talk.

11) ADVICE. Most posters are after advice. Do the best you can to help one another. Many members will post pictures or videos, asking for feedback. Choose your words carefully - make friends and not enemies.
4 & 5 seem particularly relevant over the past few months.

our current rules pretty much deal with these , the fly by nighters that hit and run do get deleted and banned sometimes a few might slip by as neither mods or I can check every post , which is why we encourage members to use the "report post" so that we can get on top of things

AusBB has good strengths and has already shown that engaging the base via contests can help retain membership
Speaking for myself I was engaged when I saw a contest before it started last year. Probably wouldny have stuck around if that wasn't in place

A strength also is Ausbb holds a more mature demographic than some other places, and has some good quality posters

Only issue I can see is that people seem to be dropping off the radar, leading to less variety of content

We need to identify the attributing factors there and then approach them

I'd love to see a strength training leaderboard competition
Results summarised at the end of the year and the winners based on various criteria ie biggest improvement, big rig award etc

Thoughts Admin; ?

Maybe its time for a name change since strength and PL dominate..
I've succumbed. :(

The idea of comps is a good one.

I too am interested in strength but I'd hate to see the BB side of ausbb downrated.

But PL comps are by their nature so much more objective than BB comps.

yes, let us have leader boards, but please don't limit it to three powerlifts.

Weight training is much more than that. I mean look how much interest the chinup clip generated.

Could we also have either official comp results as proof, or a video clip to justify performance.
