    Default Post quad strain

Back in the start of may i suffered a grade 1 quad strain in my left quad while refereeing soccer of all things. I was cleared to run and squat again at the end of may.

My problem is tho after 2 sets of squats, the muscle contractions have become so unbearable i have to stop squatting.

Is this normal or am i just in need of a cement pill?

    I don't think it's normal.

how much on the bar, and how many reps?
and I don't really understand, is there pain at muscle contraction?
or is there pain while just moving under load?

This morning there was no bar just simple body weight squats. Best way to discribe it is line an extremely painful pump with sharpish pain

I find that while a certain muscle is giving you lots of pain, the cause is often somewhere else. I have quad issues in my left leg but it all stems from psoas and piriformis due to lack of glute involvement in squatting.

Go see an ART massage therapist and get some work done on your glutes. Good chance is that is where its all coming from.
