I have a couple of speciality bars (axle and logs) that just don't fit Olympic size lockjaw, OSO or spring collars. I am after some speciality collars that fit bar diameters of 48mm to 49mm. I have tried screw collars but I just don't seem to be able to do them up tight enough to stop the weights sliding off. Does anyone have any recommendations for some cheap collars that would suite the slightly smaller diameter bars? I know lockjaw, proloc and OSO all make Axle collars but as they are already fairly expensive and I would need a few pairs so I can practise medley events buying a few is simply to expensive.

Spring clamps a dirt cheap, but the galvanized ones don't grasp as well as the nylon type.

Google nylon spring clamps

Thanks, looks like bunnings and masters have some clamps fitting that description for pretty cheap so will see about giving them ago.
