not really, he was all over the place in cloud cookoo land. he took multiple blows to the head with his hands down

That's not what stops the fight. From memory that stoppage or non stoppage wasn't even controversial.

Ground and pound without defending is what gets the fight stopped or someone clearly totally out.

then thats fucked. can still do massive damage to someone who is out on their feet. in boxing that would of been stopped.

intelligently defend oneself is the official rule otherwise fight is stopped.

Do you think that Kongo fight should have been stopped.

no, Kongo was close but kept on recovering. Ref was prolly getting ready to stop it but kept on pulling away as Kongo just kept clearing his head and intelligently defending.

totally disagree. this is what causes brain damage, taking multiple hits when your already concust and looks like he was due to the fact he is all over the place.

and end of the day that was a bit of a lucky shot that knocked the other fighter down. if he didnt land that then how many more hits would he of taken?

Lol. Taking any hits to the head causes brain damage. These guys have taken 100 times more brain damage sparing before they step foot in the ring.

Bottom line is if head knocks are what you are worried about don't take up MMA.

yeh ok. why do you think they are so fast to stop boxing matches now? and get players off field in contact sports if they get sparked?

Did you not read my post at all??

I said any hits to the head cause brain damage.

Not the point anyway. That fight should not have been stopped according to the rules and it wasn't.

Three knockdown rule in Boxing sometimes. Kongo certainly got clearly dropped twice 1 & 3 hits. The second he was only held up coz he was kneeling. Hard to decide.

Wonder what the Sports Commission at the time thought. Don't see Dan Mirgaliotta reffing in the UFC now do you?
