There are a lot of diets out there such as paleo, veganism, low carb, high carb etc. So nutritionally what would you consider the best restrictive diet and why?

None. A calorie deficit diet is best. Keto is ok but i feel like shit on keto.

Eat sensibly from all food groups, the only thing to restrict is how much you eat, exercise regularly and listen to your mother, unless she's a vegan, communist, feminazi.

^all good advice, only to add.
dont view as a "diet" just a sensible eating plan for life.
measure your calories and use as a bench mark.
if you really want to get serious don't eat anything white
and don't drink anything with sugar in it, that also goes for those toxic artificial ones.

In fact this has always been my mantra:

If you can squat, do it
given a choice, do overhead pressing, rather than bench pressing

for your overhead pressing, use dumbells more often than barbells

try all forms of pulling from the floor
dead's, stiffies, tarp bar work

farmers walks will do more for you than most realise

pull-ups and dips work for most people

dumbell rows and shurgs are good

a little arm work does the body good

machines are not the enemy

experiment and have fun

sets, rep's and how many days a week you train is up to you and your ability to recover from one workout to another

eat more protein than carbs, more carbs than fats.

eat more fruits and veg than grains

drink plenty of water.

pick an activity that allows you to improve your conditioning

make lifting a part of your life..a means to improve it
don't let it be a focus on your life

maitain a tranquil mind and outlook on life

conduct yourself in a way that reflects well on lifting

encourage others to take up lifting

  • Potato rather than chips with your meat
  • Utilize low cab beer eg; low carb on Fridays full flavor on Saturdays
  • Scotch and soda or vodka lemon lime only, on Sundays
  • Nail lots of chicks
  • Do lots of curls so you CAN nail lots of chicks
  • Look in mirror lots and enjoy what you see
  • Cut you hair often
  • Walk around with a swagger like you have the biggest cock in the southern hemosphere.
  • Always put money on Black
  • Drink a Gatorade just before you pass out
  • Always buy yeyo in bulk

Stick THIS.

IIFYM's is the easiest to maintain.
Is it the best? What constitutes best?
Will power is best. 

I don't think so. To make IIFYM fit, you need to be constantly crunching numbers.

It depends on the individual, what you like to eat, what foods are grown locally/available, your taste preferences and energy requirements.

For the average punter (which is most of us) we'd be surprised how little food we need to consume on a daily basis, if we watch what we eat and stay well hydrated.

Although for a young *very active* tacker between the age of 15 to 25 (to add muscle) he would need an awful lot of food, and the type of food he would eat would more often than be on instinct, or left to his own devices, should be anyway.

Yeah it can be a pain weighing and scanning packages but it is simple in the fact that is flexible.

Why dafuq do you want a restriction diet? You look like you are on the border of anorexia already. Eat more and train harder.

Bottom line is that the best diet is the one you can stick to.

Nutritionally the best restrictive diet is to eat a balanced range everything, just restrict (or increase) the amounts to whatever caloric level is required.

I find low carb high fat and intermittent ketosis the easiest way to lose body fat and maintain an aesthetic physique.
