25 year old Aussie here who could really do with some advice from anyone willing to offer wisdom.

I recently underwent a full blood test due to my persistent fatigue, exhaustion, depression, anxiety, lack of overall motivation and libido. I'm utterly sick of feeling exhausted and useless on a daily basis.

It turns out I'm not suffering from any known diseases or illnesses. My Total Testosterone Levels came in at 400ng/dl which I'm told are within normal ranges. I also understand I will probably need to undergo multiple tests to depict a more accurate result.

Further research suggests that at my age my levels should be soaring and that 400ng/dl is only really considered okay if you're an average 80 year old man.

I'm booked in to speak with my doctor tomorrow, from where I'm going to push to speak to a (hopefully understanding) and qualified endocrinologist whom I'll ask for further testing which may lead to TRT injections. I want nothing more than to achieve optimal Testosterone levels.

What I'm really wanting to know is if any of you out there in a similar situation and location can recommend an ideal specialist to speak with.

I live around an hour north of Brisbane, though I'm willing to travel in order to make this happen and change my life.

Any feedback in general pertaining to my situation that I may benefit from I will also be extremely grateful for.

Thank you, guys.

Good post Kyle.

At 25 you're going to risk fucking up your nuts for life????

Seek other options first!

Before some **** jabs you with needles - and people here will strongl encourage that, since you're a rare person who may get to do it legally - try eating good food, sleeping better and lifting seriously. See this, http://www.artofmanliness.com/2013/01/18/how-to-increase-testosterone-naturally/.

Thanks for your input, mate.

I probably should've mentioned that for a good 4-6 months now I've been going to gym 3 times a week ensuring I do heavy compound lifts.

I've also complimented this with 7-8 hours sleep, vitamin B, vitamin D, zinc, red meats and veggies.

In a last ditch attempt to try and alleviate my symptoms I even resorted to nofap.

I would happily risk testicular atrophy if it meant it would make me happy again and improve my quality of life.

Good, so that will have improved things. I don't know, so I can't assume that you are following a progressive plan with those lifts, regularly adding weight to the bar. I find that this has good effects on people both physically and mentally.

Have a look at the AoM article too for more ideas.

As well, it may be that you need psychological help more than medical help. People with depression have messed-up hormones, but this does not mean that the hormones are the cause of the depression. So look into that.

sounds like your problems have absolutly nothing to do with test levels. get a grip and stop trying to self diagose/prescribe TRT

the fact that his test is in range?

trt isnt some miricale cure for all that ails you, most of it is pharma marketing
It may be in range but it doesn't mean it's in range for him
And what's the point of this so called pharma marketing when it's so bloody hard for a bloke to get prescribed test.
I'm not saying that it's a cure all for everyone but this "within range" propoganda is bullshit

you could have anything from depresion to a food alergy, to a genetic illness. or you could be imagining it all. if the dr says your test is fine, it is fine. it called a range because everyone is different.

When you've attempted to change every possible lifestyle and environmental factor for the better, including diet, it's extremely hard not to draw a conclusion such as this when every single box for clinically low testosterone symptoms exist.

I disagree about simply agreeing with your doctor when they're contradicted by every article and objective piece of material you've read - That's never a good policy in life. I've read an enormous amount of testimonies where doctors will simply laugh in the face of any man questioning his testosterone levels simply because he is within the general range ~300 - ~1100.

What they're not considering is a) The point at which a man suffers clinically low testosterone side effects is not defined by an exact number and every man is different and b) They're not taking into consideration your age and overall health.

There are so many factors at play here and many more tests to be conducted before I can conclude anything, but if my Total Testosterone levels are scoring 400ng/dl or lower, that literally puts me in the same bracket as an average 80 year old man.

A quick google search will reveal dozens of scientific sources and personal testimonies to back this.

Edit: I've also been perscribed anti-depressants in the past (SSRI's) etc. They don't benefit me.

If it is in range it is not abnormal and unlikely to be caused by an underlying medical condition. should they prescribe med's for everything else where people are on the lower range of the scale? My bp and cholesterol are on the low side, should i get on some meds to correct them as well?

as i said the symptoms you are complaining of could be caused by 1000's of things. please explain why YOU have decided that it is because of testosterone?

If you have been on ssri's before and list depression as one of your symptoms. depression would fit all these symptoms, not to mention the symptom imagining some ailment and thinking trt is the answer and not accepting what your dr tells you.

anyway what do you expect to happen? no endocrinologist is going to put you on TRT because you don't agree with them that your test isnt high enough lol.

stfu what would you know about it? its easy as piss to get trt in the states, where most of the marketing is done.

if its in range it means its not abnormal. having lower test than another man does not indicate some medical condition.
