Adrian, you may know more about this than me. When Kevin retired when he did, he made a comment which I read in a magazine, that his mum and dad died from cancer. It was cancer this and cancer that, running in the family type of a message he was trying to tell us. And so he was happy to retire when he did, as the PED he was taking would increase his chances of going down the same path etc (according to him)...., so it was just as well (and thank goodness I'm fine I haven't got cancer) so it's great I'm retiring now type of an attitude

I say you know more than me about this since you've been up to date with Kevin's come back story. In your opinion, and based on your experience in the sport, do you think the man is on the "vitamins" or is he all natural? I know that Lee Priest (who's a straight shooter in my opinion) believes that Kev is well.., let's just say is less than an honest type of a guy. What's your take on what I've just written?

No risk in the world he is on the good vitamins.
There would be no comeback without them esp at his age of 52.
He did say though that he got a clean bill of health before his comeback.

Thanks for your insight mate, it's very much appreciated. I wish Kev all the best, and I hope he does not get his hopes too high, but just be thankful that he's still got his health intact, and the will and drive to rock it on with men half his age. Very inspirational.

I hope he does well too.
I fear the judges will still prefer the mass monsters and Levrone will not be able to match them.

he wont even look half of this!

You know this how?

It all boils down to this: the ratio between the size of a muscle cell and the number of nuclei that it has. You see, the use/abuse of anabolic steroids leads to a higher number of myonuclei than what can be achieved naturally. When a muscle has been subjected to deloading, or to resting and consequently shrinking, as the case has been with Kevin (since his retirement from the sport)..., when he resumes training, as we're currently seeing the former champ doing, he will quickly return to his previous muscle size and strength. Why is that? Because the muscle is simply seeking to maintain the relationship between the number of nuclei and its size, hence it will respond quickly to stimuli.

All of us here on Ausbb know that it takes less time to recover lost muscle mass than it takes to surpass one's previous bests in muscle mass. Some prefer to refer to it as simply being a case of muscle memory.

If anyone is interested in this deep muscle building/re-building topic, and how one needs to activate those dormant stem cells/satellite cells located in the vicinity of muscle cells etc...., please type the following into Google: Ingrid Marie Egner on muscle hypertrophy.
