Proper footwear is important if you’re doing any type of weightlifting or strength training. Before you hit the gym, check out this video for some tips on how to properly protect your feet.

When you lift barbells, you put a lot of weight and pressure on your feet. This can cause some problems if you’re not properly protected. As the video above, courtesy of The Art of Manliness, explains, you want to make sure your shoes have support, but without having a ton of give in your insoles. The more your shoes squish under your weight, the less that support actually matters.
