Were you self conscious in the beginning? If so what did you do to overcome this?
 
I think if I used a public gym I might have been a bit self conscious about my legs, particularly my calves, no matter how hard I punished them they didn't respond, still a problem but I don't give up.
 
I think like most people, when you're new you don't know what exercises to do, or even where to find the equipment so you look lost.
