Hey guys I've got a home gym ready minus a power rack that I am still shopping for... my total area is 4x4m I have full dumbell rack full barbell racks (will probably sell most of these barbells) and a bench.
I'm almost inclined to go a half rack like Rogue HR-2 because I think it has no drawbacks to a full power rack and the shorter column spread takes up less room in the middle of my home gym.
I'm also particularly after a rack I can deadlift over and use bands to add resistance (another reason why the HR-2 appeals to me)

I need it for squatting benching deadlifting military pressing ... will likely get one of those ecino pulley systems from sams fitness for cable pulley exersizes - unless I buy a seperate powertec lat pulldown/low row machine but buying a ecino pulley and then a second would allow me to do have a makeshift cable crossover using the beams in my shed

Rogue look like the best rack for my needs but does anyone have any other recommendations though that can utilise resistance bands for deadlifts?

Thanks

Are you sure you can fit bands to that rack? Just looked it up and the outer part of the base where you would be deadlifting doesn't look long enough to fit bands properly. Where the holes are for the pins/pegs, won't the upright would be in the way for the other anchor? I guess you could tie the bands on?

I would just get a full rack and deadlift inside of it when you want to use the bands. Should have enough room in that space to deadlift outside when not using bands if that's what you prefer.

Is there any reason why you're set on Rogue? You pay a fair bit for the name...
A couple of examples from one of the sponsors...

The second one is very good value IMO. Either is going to take up half your room but when you're working inside it for the majority of things, does it matter?
If you think you'll get claustrophobic, they do some good half racks as well

if there isn't a band peg hole between the HR2 columns I'm sure it won't be hard to make one and use the furtherest band peg hole at the end so the middle between both pegs is still outside the column...

after seeing the customer photos down in the reviews it just makes a full power rack look unnecessary.
and the Rogue flat foot have quite a small space they take up, I have just seen the powertec megatec that is pretty small too but either powertec attachments are limited or just don't exist!

Rogue has
landmines
plate storage
reverse hyper
leg roller
bar holder
monolift attachment

and the rogue spotter arms are 2 feet long, powertecs are 37cm, barely ore than a foot. Fuck that

also the band pegs on the second look permanent and then will not be able to do any floor work with it, deadlifts, floor press.

If you think Rogue are expensive have you seen the price on Ironedge power racks? $2600 and out of stock...
Rogue are half the price and their shipments sell out quick.
Rogue are made in America. Ironedge are made in Australia, not in taiwan, china like Powertec/musclemotion/force usa racks which are always in stock and always on gumtree or ebay being sold off while It's hard to find Ironedge or Rogue racks second hand.. think about that..

I'm getting into powerlifting type of training so I'm not just looking for something to do the job lifting some weights (which I'm sure the MM rack would do) but something more specific for the training I am hoping to use it for and I am a bit skeptical on what I would be happy with in the long run

The pegs aren't attached full time, see below...

These racks are still a similar weight to a Rogue full rack and are fully tested (locally) to 800kg static load and over 300kg drop tests.
But if you're set on Rogue then go for it. Just offering other suggestions.
I would put the reasoning of more of them being for sale second hand being the original price equalling higher popularity. If someone is just slightly interested in weight training, they're more likely to get a $1000 rack and spend the rest of the budget on weights, bars, attachments, etc rather than dropping 2 or 4 grand on a rack alone. When the novelty wears off, they end up selling. Doesn't mean the product is rubbish.

I ended up finding a really cheap powertec / iron master rack / super bench set locally and got it at a really good price! mainly stoked on having a gooooood bench
