WHEN personal trainer Ryan Bernard Horner’s bodybuilder girlfriend started developing male traits, he began to suspect her trainer was pushing her to use illegal steroids.

And when Horner, 33, went to dinner at a Southport home on October 11 last year to celebrate her win in a bodybuilding competition, the issue exploded into rage.

GRANNIES FINED FOR TRESPASSING AT ADF SITE
The Southport Magistrates Court was yesterday told things turned sour when Horner and the other trainer, Daniel Delahunty argued, with Horner pushing the other man through a window.
About two hours after Mr Delahunty was taken to hospital, Horner drunkenly returned to the Southport home with a crowbar and was asked to leave by Bradley Vella, another man at the dinner.
Horner headbutted Mr Vella, then hit him on the back of the head with the crowbar, causing an injury that required 22 stitches.
Yesterday Horner pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of drink-driving.
Barrister Chris Rosser said Horner had trained his girlfriend at the time for about five years but Mr Delahunty then took over her training for about a year before the incident.
Mr Rosser said Horner noticed a deterioration in their relationship while she trained under Mr Delahunty.
“His fears were that his partner was being trained in bodybuilding but under the influence of Delahunty she was using steroids,” Mr Rosser told the court.
“He’s been a person who’s always been against this.”
“He noticed physical changes in his partner such as facial hair, a deepened voice and increased muscle tone.
“He was becoming rather protective of her and his attitude changed towards Delahunty — that attitude had been in the past been one that was friendly.”
Mr Rosser said on the night of the incident his client had become angry with the conversation.
He said the fight with Mr Delahunty started off as pushing and shoving but got out of hand.
“There’s no allegation that this was a deliberate attempt to push a man through the window but my client accepts responsibly,” he said.
Mr Rosser submitted Horner went back to the home before the second assault because he was worried about his partner.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Nicole Jackson said the assaults were violent and not provoked in any way.
“The defendant has been quite calculating in the fact that he’s gone home and returned with a crowbar with the intention of either assaulting someone, or preventing himself from being assaulted,” she said.
“It’s the prosecution submission that a term of imprisonment would be suitable.”
Magistrate Catherine Pirie adjourned will sentence Horner on Friday.

That's why I love the Gold Coast, it is populated almost exclusively with people like this. Even I seem intelligent surrounded by morons of this calibre.
