I was one of "those guys" who always had to train at a gym. But now its all home gym for me. Love it.
But as you mentioned your motivation is down and you haven't been training much. "Dude" you just purchased your first house!! This can have a flow on effect, what with all the documents you have to sign, meeting bank managers, sign this, sign that, stress, uncertainty ...of course your motivation can be screwed up.
Once your all settled and moved in things will become more routine.

Congrats on your purchase. Home is where the heart is.....and when the training begins!
Cheers,
BVG

Champion - thanks mate!

Still haven't made the purchase yet of the equipment as we are working out some final house payments - but it is all looking good - so excited!

I am also building a home gym / rape dungeon as El Testicle ; would call it.
Although I'd have have to live to 250 for it to pay for itself, cos it's part of home design, which ended up 3 stories cos if the gym, can't wait till it's built, have never trained at home so excited as hell, plan to fit it out shmick.

Have 2 questions for you kunce,
1. do you get sick of training at home? Did I just spend 10s of thousands on something that fades away?
2. Anyone played with one of these? Looks so shiny, gotta have one in my gym, it's the 360 on the right, the kunce of a websites won't work, hopefully the product works better than the site.

There are different pro's and cons of home versus in a gym. Will give a quick shortlist

Pros
The gym is 10 seconds away.
Can use it anytime and any day.
Don't have to wait to use equipment.
Pump your own music as loud as you want, until the neighbours come knocking.
Deadlifts aren't banned.

Cons
No tail to look at.
Don't have all machines/equipment.
Motivation can lack at times and easier to slack off (cold weather is a bitch at the moment).
Distractions can happen easier.

I find a way to get through the rough patches is just go do a casual session at a gym every now and again. I do a session with a couple of mates and helps keeps it fresh. I love the no restrictions of having all my stuff in the next room.

What gym is retard enough to ban deadlifts?

Actually the cons are quite severe when you think about it. The key is in the ability to mix the environment up whenever you can. Like sign up for a fernwood or yoga class ad hoc.

That is some good points here, the no mixing wif the chicks in 2XU pants gonna hurt, but I think I'll still get me a memebership as you mentioned, all man environment is a lough at first, than if sort of misses something, like prison or the navy.

Made these yesterday. Great little addition to the home gym set up.
Good for push-ups, L-sits and may even try them for my handstand progression...

There are different pro's and cons of home versus in a gym. Will give a quick shortlist

Pros
The gym is 10 seconds away. Which can also be a con, as if you're needed inside by the mrs, she can just call out the back window, but i turn the stereo or headphones right up to avoid this situ. BUT, you know you can squeeze in a quick session without worrying about traffic, getting a park, talking to every **** in the gym and not having to worry about waiting for the bench or squat rack

Can use it anytime and any day. The neighbours love weights clanging at 5am on Xmas day.

Don't have to wait to use equipment. THE BEST PRO FOR ME & you can set up a whole circuit knowing that no-one will disturb it.

Pump your own music as loud as you want, until the neighbours come knocking. My neighbours know not to come knocking. Plus i usually wear headphones if it's a real early sesh.

Deadlifts aren't banned. Neither is 'Shirts off Sunday', training in speedo's only, spitting on the floor, mirror, bench, looking at porn on your phone between sets, changing the music and flexing in the mirror with pants down is encouraged.

Cons
No tail to look at. i do miss looking at the wildlife :(

Don't have all machines/equipment. Over time, I have gathered enough stuff to have all my muscles entertained & brain ticking over to think outside the square keeping workouts different.

Motivation can lack at times and easier to slack off (cold weather is a bitch at the moment). Morning workouts at this time of year are fucked. Mine is all outside, no cover. Have trained in a raincoat before. Not the best.

Distractions can happen easier. The only distraction at home for me could be the mrs calling me in to help, but her & the kids knows not to disturb me when training. I only want 45mins a day to train, so they let me be.

I love the no restrictions of having all my stuff in the next room. I also have my membership for the footy stadium gym and the Maroubra Seals Club, & with a $9 casual gym fee, its worth mixing it up every couple of months with a session there, even if its just to appreciate the view and how good I have it with my own set-up.

Repacked; and StrungOut; when are you two jerks coming round to mine for a session?

Con: The kids laughing at the funny faces I pull while lifting.
Pro: Being the biggest guy in my gym means I can tell them to fuck off without getting beat up.
