and didn't know that re skipping other lifts. I'm token squat and bench. Have to weigh in on Friday so the token lifts will interrupt my eating LOL.

Tenacity - Novice and improvers 3 Lift competition
When – 7th June 2015 (Sunday)

What - This is an raw and open event. Anybody can enter. Wrists wraps/Knee wraps are allowed. You do not need to be part of ANY Fed to compete in this event.

Where - The event will be held at PTC Sydney. Unit 51/2 Railway Parade Lidcombe

Weigh in - 9am-10:30am
Lifting starts at 11am sharp

Cost - $40 (Free for spectators)

During summer, The gym regularly gets visitors from America, Poland, England, Canada and others.

Two days ago I recieved a phone call from Tom who was on holidays from Germany.

Apparently he had been following the gym on instagram/FB.

He mentioned back home there weren't many strength gyms and mainly commercial gyms.

Now I dont know Germany that well, but
I found it quiete surprising, considering some of the weight lifting/sporting champions the country had produced.

From what he tells me, East Germany produced the majority of these athletes due to the communist/russian influence during the split.

We know how the russians love their weightlifting.

The majority of strength based gyms were found in the Eest.

The West Germans were more into football. Interesting stuff.

I love having a chat with overseas visitors about anything related to lifting.

I still remember the canadian ice hockey player... But that is for another post.
