Merry Christmas from Ben Crowley & the Bulk Team!

While we wish everyone a happy Christmas and holiday period, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of our customers for their support. While the team at Bulk Nutrients works very hard, we have been very fortunate to have an ever-growing customer base who are passionate about supporting us.

Over the last few years, Bulk Nutrients has continued to experience rapid growth, our factory in Tasmania has grown a few hundred sq meters over the past 12 months (now over 2600m²*of floor space) and we have more than 35 staff.

Throughout 2015 we have many things in store, from new products, an entire “naturals range” and a move into some interesting products that we wouldn’t have considered years ago. We will continue to support over 100 events each year and listen to feed back from the people who support us.

If you are ever in Tasmania, we’d love to hear from you, offer you a tour of the factory and of course you’re more than welcome to use our new 200m² staff gym.

Usually websites that offer ‘Free Shipping’ do so by charging more for every product in their range, and that’s why were prefer to offer a flat rate. The more you buy in bulk, or with a group of friends, the more the shipping component is reduced. The more you buy with most ‘free shipping’ websites, the more that embedded shipping goes up.

In December however, our great prices remain the same everyday low price, but if you spend over $200 we’ll remove the $12 flat rate shipping fee!

Over the past few months we have been developing a new and exciting product called ‘Protein Matrix +’. While we are very well known for our pure line of WPIs and WPCs, we do understand that some prefer to purchase a protein blend that provides the best of both products.

Protein Matrix + combines WPC, Milk Protein Isolate and WPI to create a product which is rich in natural levels of Glutamine, EAAs and BCAAs. Further to this, it is complemented by boosted amino acids, particularly Leucine which is the prime amino acid responsible for muscle growth, and Glutamine an amino acid essential for recovery. Studies have shown that higher Leucine levels result in more efficient and rapid protein synthesis.

Another exciting feature is that we have included a special lactase enzyme which minimises issues for those who have lactose problems, and our trials in this area have produced extremely good results.

Final flavour trials are currently under way and we expect to be able to launch Protein Matrix + in January. *With a delicious taste, around 85% protein and only $99 for 4kg, we expect Protein Matrix + to be very popular!!

For the top and bottom:
  • 30 grams dates - medjool or dried
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1 tbsp (15g) cocoa
  • 5 tbsp (50g) dessicated coconut*
  • 1 tbsp (35g) chocolate hazelnut spread - I used Mayvers but you can use any alternative nut spread
  • 2 tbsp (40ml) coconut oil melted
  • 2 scoops Bulk Nutrients Choc Mint WPI/WPC (60g)
  • 1tsp (2g) coconut sugar


For the filling
  • 80g cashews soaked
  • 2tbsp (40ml) coconut oil melted
  • 1tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1-2tsp peppermint essence - i used 2
  • 1tsp (2g) coconut sugar


Directions
[*]Get the cashews soaking the night before so they soften up!
[*]Line a small cake tin.*
[*]Make the base first. Simply place all ingredients into a food processor and blitz until smooth. Divide the mix in half. It makes about 230g in total so roughly 115g top and bottom!
[*]Place the bottom in first then set aside while you make your filling.
[*]Melt coconut oil then place all filling ingredients in a blender and blitz until the mixture is creamy.
[*]Pour over your base and spread to the edges.
[*]So you don't squash the filling, shape the top into a flat disc with your hands and lightly press it onto the filling.

And that's it, you're done!

Place in the fridge for 1-2hrs before cutting and eating*devouring.
