Muscle Motion power racks

You're getting more equipment as standard on the blue one (dip bar as standard, band pegs)

Main differences would be the the silver one has slide in spotter bars, so it would be slightly more tedious to adjust if say you're benching and squatting on the same day

The blue one has better quality spotters, with a rubber guard at the top so they won't beat up your barbell on rack pulls or shrugs

You are getting $100 back in the form of store credit for the silver unit so if you didn't need the dip bars you could put money towards a bench or barbell

If you're going to be buying more gear from Gym Direct, the silver one might be a better option as they aren't different quality wise, but i do like the spotter arms on the blue one over the slide-through ones on the silver unit

Ok thanks for the quick response, so in terms of sturdyness, they are both the same. In that case I might go for the blue one as it has more spotter hole.

Hi guys,

Here's some info regarding the two racks. :)

We believe the MMRP rack is a sturdier more rigid framed rack. This is due to the construction method where spigots are welded onto the top and bottom rails which slot into the top and bottom of the posts, creating 2 rigid rectangular frames on each side. These 2 frames are then connected with crossbeams featuring 320mm deep plate angle bracing on the base and top rear crossbeams to keep the rack rigid, square and prevent racking.

The PR1002 rack has posts which simply butt join with the top and bottom rails, and the joins use reinforcing plates to secure the connection using bolts. This method is not as good as the MMPR method, however, it is still a very strong method.

Apart from that the racks are quite similar in strength. The J Hooks on the PR1002 rack are slightly stronger when under large loads such as over 500kg, but nobody will be lifting these weights anyway, (please see corresponding test reports, no test was taken to failure which would have resulted in higher results).

The PR1002 comes with dip handles and band pegs if that is important to you. The PR1002 rack has closer hole spacing on the posts, however, based on experience we believe it is unnecessary to have too frequent hole spacing and often simpler is best.

The PR1002 rack is quite deep and you will require considerably more space than the relatively compact MMPR rack, especially if attaching the optional High Low pulley option.

The MMPR pull up bar is superior and has been load tested in excess of 500kg successfully.

And yes as mentioned above for a limited time, when you purchase a MMPR Power rack you receive a free $100 Gym Direct gift voucher to use with your next order. * Not available in conjunction with any other discounts or packages.

I hope this helps, If you have any questions feel free to email me directly at aimee@gymdirect.com.au.
