Summary;

  • A new study has been published - it looks at the incomes and health habits of more than 3,000 children and more than 5,000 adults.
  • 2/3 of the study subjects reported attempting to lose weight in the past year. Despite this efforts, the adults gained an average of 3 pounds, and children: 12 pounds.
  • people in the lower income brackets gained about two pounds more than those in the highest one

Compared to adults making >$75,000, those making <$20,000 were:

  • 50% less likely to exercise
  • 42% less likely to drink a lot of water
  • 25% less likely to eat less fat and sweets
  • adults making between $20,000 and $75,000 were about 50% more likely to use over-the-counter diet pills
It goes on, and the link to the study is contained in the article, as well as here if you want to look at it, but this is a pretty interesting study.
