severe wrist pain

I have had this dull/numb pain in my right wrist for years now. I think it happened when i punched a punching bag incorrectly hurt so much i thought i broke my wrist, couldnt move it for about an hour. I found photo on net where i feel the pain 'Palmar carpal ligament'.
During a workout it feels similar to when you lose grip strength except its worse. I also have trouble making a clinched fist very fast and tight. Went to specialist he told me to get MRI done. Im just curious has anyone heard of anything similar how serious can this stuff be?
I can get through a workout i just stretch and take longer rest breaks, then i ice it when i get home and its ok. Im mainly worried if it will get worse to point i cant train.

Good to hear, sounded like you were doing the good old ask everyone on the net how to fix the problem and not listen to the specialist. Sounds like could be pinching a nerve or similar

update might help someone.

Being trained by experienced bodybuilder and he noticed i had some chronic tightness in muscles from inner elbow to palm nfi what you call it. He suggested I use a golf ball and place arm over it and roll it very hard everyday. He also showed me a stretch, go side ways to wall and put palm flat on wall with straight arm and lean back to stretch (bottom of palm facing forward same way was body).

Been 2 weeks I still have pain in wrist but its not as bad never an issue during training. At first I thought it might be placebo effect but I havent had to ice my wrist at all and even typing is a lot easier I feel no pain typing. Putting off MRI for now because even if it says i need operation i dont want to do it since its not affecting workout or my job.
