He will soon compete in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and hopefully the Rio Olympic games after that. Malek Chamoun qualified for the team and will be the first legally blind contestant to enter the able bodied category...

After starting to lose his vision at 7 Malek by age 15 he was declared legally blind The technical challenge of weightlifting is one thing, doing it with no way to focus visually and balance is another.

Met a few blind people who were grossly overweight. It's awesome to see one that has excelled at life!
 
Saw him on The Project last night. Great story & he's so lucky to have a great family behind him
 
sometimes its great to reflect and be grateful that we have all out limbs and senses intact, I can't imagine living without it.
