lifting weights is not a 2 year exercise.

As you get older you realize this. Exercise is for Life, therefore Lifting is for Life.

When you are young though, you don't realize this. It needs to be "sustainable".

We we feel bullet proof when we are young and dumb.
 
I am glad I hardly did heavy weights throughout my three decades of lifting.

My joints are still pretty good, but I watch those who went heavy consistently complain of mangled joints.

I feel what you're saying, so do a few of my mates. We all feel the glitches now.
 
If a person cannot reach 150kg on the deadlift, using *a* routine for a relatively short period of time! then a goal 250 is not realistic.
