Savickas tire deadlift WR

Jeff

New member
Savickas pulls ~523 kg on the tire deadlift, on his way to winning the Arnold Strongman Classic 2014.

Just a question to those in the know.

With the tyre deadlifts - is the bar height the same as a regular deadlift (with weight plates) due to the platform they stand on or is it higher starting point (similar to where you would start say rack pulls from)?

Thanks.

Same height as if they used plates as you correctly said, the platform is there to raise them up to counter act the additional radius of the tyres.

Nah it starts slightly higher up than a regular deadlift and the bar whips far more

It look to be a couple of inches higher, but with the whip you are about at 16-18 inches before you have full weight. Sort or like a reverse band deadlift you could say.

Would be nice to find a wife who'd let me grow to that size so I could just eat pizza and deadlift all day.

Thanks 0ni; and cunniff1981; for clearing that up for me.

Sorry, she's already married.
