Its a calming signal.... as dogs live in a pack you will see it all the time, dogs also sense when humans are stressed or anxious and the dog will come up to lick your face.

i agree 110% that the owner is responsible. I never once disputed that.

And the sad reality it, Amstaffs, Pitbulls and any other dog that people think are "tough" get into the wrong hands all the time. The amount of people that have asked me if i wanted to breed my dogs is a joke.

I protect my dogs, Not the other way around.

Pitbulls would have to have some of the most misleading information about them then any other breed in the world.

So you are seriously saying its ok to let a dog lick a baby's face. Why? Why the fuck is a dog licking a baby's face. Its bloody basically child abuse. Who would put their kid in that danger.

Like I said. Owners are right that their dogs would never attack someone until the day they do attack someone.

Every owner that had a dog attack someone would have said their dog is safe before their dog went mental.

When im talking hunting dogs im talking real Pig dogs, Ie you have a sent dog, and dog that will bite and hold and dog do bail the pig up ect.

Poodles are actually gun dogs, Used to retrieve shot ducks and birds form the waters.

Not mini poodle crosses either... They are fluffy footballs.

Why am i taking a risk? i trust my dogs 110%, they have a very stable temperament.

If they didn't or i couldn't trust them they would be killed and buried in the back yard.

Every situation is different, what im saying is i know and trust my dogs.

Would i let another dog lick a kids face around me, NO. Do i trust other people and there dogs, NO

So you are saying because your dog wants to lick a babys face you let them. Fuck what the dog wants, its a dog, it should do what you tell it. Train your dogs properly not to lick peoples faces especially babys. Its a fucking dog, why are you letting it lick babys faces.

And then you are equating a dog licking a baby's face to licking its balls. Fuck me what a joke.

Nah i just got sick of arguing, End of the day my dogs are fine...... You can get a dog and train it as you wish.

Mabey i should of phrased it better to begin with.

The time that i introduced my dogs to a baby, I made her sit down, Then let her sniff the baby, Then she licked the babys face. We all walked away alive.

Thats my point.... Your acting like i walk my dog around the Maternity ward letting my dog feast on new borns faces every day.

Again I don't see why a dog is being allowed to lick a baby's face. I can't see any responsible owner doing that.

Well to start with i trusted my dog enough to be near the baby, If i didn't the dog would of been in its crate while the baby was around.

So instead of my dog being curious around the baby and me acting like its a no go zone, I made her sit, I introduced them, the dog sniffed her, then gave her a lick on the head.

What so every baby or child your dog is around you goign to reprimand them and put them away.... Why punish a dog for something its not doing wrong?

to me that is irresponsible, Dogs should be socialised in all situations.

So that one time when your dog gets out, OR some idoit mum lets her kid run up and grab your dog, The dog wont freak out, Its seen it all before.

Very rarely do kids come up and ask me, Can i please pat your dog.

The usually run up from behind and hit the dog, OR grab its face, Or scream.

My dog has no reaction because i have introduced them to all of that before.

You keep your dog hidden from the world and then wonder why when one day the little kid hit your dog in the face and it bit her back.....

So how many dogs have you actually had bazza?

I rescue, train and re home dogs on a regular basis..... Whats your contribution to the dog world? Or you just like to talk shit and crap on about my dog licking a babys face like its the end of the world?

Do you also think its moronic for the head NSW police/Navy schutzhund trainer to have his malinois military attack dogs around his kids and family?

Sleeping with his 5yd old daughter?

What a moron he must be.....

You can never trust animals 100%. If you think that you can, yes that's moronic.

I hope for the kids sake your dogs don't harm anyone. It only takes one slip up from an otherwise perfect dog.
 
My kids played with the boxer all the time, he'd often sneak in a lick of their face, knew he wasn't allowed to but couldn't help himself. On the other hand my kids would often share their icecreams with him, they knew too that they weren't allowed to. They loved playing with him and he had a beautiful temperament, but given his size if he ever flipped, the kids would not stand a chance.
 
Its a family dog - they are going to play with the kids, lick their faces at times, shit the kids will lick the dogs face at times - its a family dog, its part of the family - how hard is this to comprehend.

Knowing a thing or two about dogs and even more about genetic traits, i'd trust a pit bull more than a cocker spaniel.

Anyway, i'm sure Sydking knows what he is doing and keeps his dogs under control, it's when their brain falls apart unsupervised is when bad things happen.

Use to breed alpacas (had more than one win some European supreme champions too), their genetics was always black and white, awesome animals to work with :)
